Gas prices
Use Energy Made Easy to find and compare reticulated natural gas offers available in your area.
You can compare gas retailers and their prices.
Gas retailers decide which areas they target for new customers, so depending on where you live, they may offer you a lower price, improved retail services or other benefits.
Gas retailers are responsible for setting prices for their customers. The final price paid by gas customers includes:
- the cost of the gas
- the cost of transporting the gas along transmission and distribution pipelines to individual customers
- retail costs (e.g. customer account management).
Changes to gas prices
If prices are going to increase, gas retailers must:
- publish a notice on their website at least 10 business days before the new price takes effect
- send the price notice to affected customers with their next bill.
However, for market retailer contracts, gas retailers must simply give notice as soon as practicable, no later than the customer's next bill.
